Welcome to Decora Discepoli Studio

Classes are enthusiastically taught by artist, decorative painter, muralist, and general paint fanatic, Laine Discepoli, in our Glendale Studio, located on the second floor at 18 Village Square. (Parking is available on street) Class size is limited to 8 students so that you may enjoy individual attention and a personal "Paint Station" that includes a table easel, chair, sundries, and tools needed for the creative process. All classes are HANDS ON so wear comfortable clothing that you can get a little messy. While students will be provided with handouts and printed information, all will be encouraged to take notes. We really strive to teach you what goes into painting – so you come away with a good understanding of materials and techniques rather than just a bunch of recipes for you to follow. That way – you can be successful at your own projects – and not just in the comfort of the studio.

Since it’s no fun to learn while your stomach is growling, soft drinks and water will be provided for all classes. Appetizers, munchies, and snacks are available during evening classes. And, LUNCH is offered for Saturday and weekday classes. Seriously – we feed you well!

Say Hello to Faux (Beginner)

This class features an in-depth, soup to nuts approach to a variety of faux finishes including traditional glazes with bagging, stippling, strie, scumble, and more. We will also work with stencils and embossed/embedded stencils, and dimensional products including plasters and stone effects, and metallics. Our goal is to teach students the cutting edge techniques that are featured in design and décor magazines. Designed for students with a real passion for painting -- for those just getting started or professionals who want to boost their portfolio and really start making techniques work. Students will come away with 12-15 samples of exciting finishes including Designer Parchment, Venetian Plaster, European Break-away Stenciling, Crackle Effects, Old World Stucco, Tissue Effects, and Dazzling Metallics. This class is sure to open the door to creativity and experimentation.
